This lovely Thatcham garden is given a curvy makeover with new features and contemporary materials.

The Garden Before:

Our client’s love of curves is evident in their existing garden (below) and can be seen in the outline of their old patio and timber retaining boundary wall.  However now, with Katie’s clever design, the curves have been taken to a new level bringing interest and definition to a garden previously lacking in character.

New Garden Features:

The new landscaping and features have completely transformed and modernised the garden. Defined areas of interest are softened by existing and new planting, bringing changing colour and texture throughout the year.

Curves

  • Curves are everywhere and have been used to create defined patio areas for seating and entertaining.
  • The ‘silver’ porcelain pavers our clients have chosen look smart and more modern than the old paving.
  • The sharp curved patio edges have been skilfully cut on site by our landscaping team.

Grey Resin Pathway

  • The feature grey resin pathway complements the colour of the paving and hugs the curved outline of the newly turfed lawn.  It also provides a practical surface surround for the sleeper raised planting beds.

Shutter Screen Fence

  • A new shutter screen fence with bevelled edge timber batons adds to the contemporary feel, and provides more privacy from the neighbouring windows.

A Bespoke Pergola

  • A bespoke constructed pergola sits above the small corner patio adding interest as well as providing some shade in this part of the garden.

Lawn and Planting

  • The new planting in the curved borders, and the central lawn visually link the whole garden and are the finishing touches to the design.
  • Existing plants have been replanted alongside new ones with wonderful descriptive names such as: – Nepeta Faassenii ‘Snowflake’, Heuchera ‘Lime Marmalade’, Helloborus, Ecchinacea ‘Sunseekers Pink’, Pyrus Calleryana ‘Chanticleer’, Clematis Montana ‘Spooneri’, and Trachelospernum Jasminoides.

A 5* Review

Our clients were delighted with the results of their newly landscaped garden and they left us this 5* google review:

“Overall, a 5* experience.  The whole team is very professional, experienced, responsive, proactive, knowledgeable and work to a very high standard.  Katie listened to our comments about the existing garden and created a CAD design to develop our ideas and then adapt them based on our comments…… John gave us very good advice about materials and colour choices …. We are extremely happy with the final result and would thoroughly recommend Alda Landscapes”.
