- Location: Thatcham
- What we did: Design, Construction, Planting
- Cost: £20-25k + VAT
The brief: To create a garden that is cohesive and makes the most of the gardens aspect and the space available. The design also needed to work with the slope of the garden.
The design: The circular design focused on creating 3 tiered levels to eradicate the problematic slope as well as creating flow through the garden. The focal feature is a central circular lawn with curved paths around the edge to link the main seating area to the lower section of the garden. At the bottom of the garden a small built in seating area was added with additional trees for screening.
The outcome: The result is a beautifully flowing outdoor space with the central circular lawn and defined paths leading the eye through the garden. The main structure is softened by surrounding planting, leading the eye down onto an intimate private seating area at the bottom of the garden. By stepping the levels into 3 tiers the garden looks much more open, whilst the additional trees provide extra privacy.
