6 ideas to steal from our most recent design build project in Wokingham

Work has just completed on our most recent design and build project in Wokingham. This time around, we thought it might be interesting to give you six ideas for inspiration when planning your own garden redesign. This was a modern, angular design, but a lot of the concepts can be used and adapted to suit any garden transformation.

1 / Contemporary Stepping Stones

Stepping stones add interest in a large area of shingle. Here we have used the same porcelain tiles as elsewhere in the garden. They have been laid in an angular pattern which ties in with the straight lines of the rest of the design.

2 / Stunning Porcelain

Create stunning paved areas in a garden by laying porcelain tiles. Our client chose the pale peach tones of porcelain paving in ‘Coral’ from Global Stone and sourced through our paving supplier Nigel Belcher. The large rectangular tiles perfectly complement the modern look of the property.

3 / Sunken Area with a View

A sunken area at the bottom of the garden provides another usable space within a garden. In this case it provides our client with a second paved seating area outside their summer house, providing an alternative view of their new garden up to the house.

4 / Attractive & Functional Raised Beds

Terraced raised sleeper beds against the fence line make an attractive and functional space for planting when overcoming the problem of a steep incline of ground.

5 / Instant Impact Lawn

Laying a new lawn using quality seeded turf gives instant impact. This change alone will transform a garden where, as was the case in Wokingham, the existing lawn had become tired and neglected.

6 / Easy Access with Shingle Pathways

Install a shingle stone pathway around the edges of the lawn to give easy access to different areas of the garden all year round even on the wettest of days.

Before and Work in Progress

To show the transformation, here are a few photos of how our clients’ garden used to look, together with some work in progress shots:
