Contemporary Chic Is the Wow Factor for This Garden in Newbury

Sleek lines and effortless minimalism give this garden a contemporary chic feel. It also requires very little maintenance.

ALDA in Action

From old and tired to contemporary and chic, this recent project will be an inspiration to those who crave a garden with sleek lines and effortless minimalism. It also has the added benefit of virtually no maintenance throughout the year – an ideal garden style for busy people!

Before and After:

Here’s a slider to show how we’ve transformed this garden:

New Garden Features:

This garden provides our client with a relaxing and open space to enjoy during the day with plenty of room for entertaining.  The L-shaped raised bed with built-in composite deck board bench is an attractive and practical focal point. At nightime the garden transitions beautifully into a welcoming sanctuary with a warm ambiance created by the clever placement of up lighting against the fence panels.

Rectangular Lawn

  • A large rectangular lawn in the centre of the garden has been laid using artificial turf.
  • In a garden with little colour, the lawn will provide important definition whatever the time of year.
  • The lawn is easy maintenance – no more mowing for our client!

Rectangular Porcelain Paving

  • The large rectangular porcelain paving continues the theme of sleek lines.
  • The paving frames the lawn, creating a striking contrast with a clean sharp finish.
  • The layout and use of rectangles cleverly makes the garden appear larger than it is.

Rendered Walls and Deck Board Seat

  • The rendered walls of the corner raised bed with its composite deck board seat bring a modern look to the garden.
  • Composite deck board is a relatively new landscaping material and is much more durable than its timber alternative.

Slatted Fencing

  • New contemporary slatted fencing encloses the garden and is one of the fastest ways to bring a contemporary feel to any garden.

Minimal and Structural Planting

  • The minimal and structural planting complement the straight lines of the hard landscaping.

Our clients worked closely with our designer Katie, to bring their vision to life. The result is a garden with the minimal look they wanted for their busy family, a garden that will last for many years with very little maintenance along the way.
